W. T. FOSSETT General Merchandise.

    The demands of the inhabitants of Illiopolis and the surrounding territory for groceries, dry goods, hats, and caps, boots and shoes, notions and furnishing goods are promptly and satisfactorily supplied at the establishment owned and conducted by W. T. Fossett. Bed rock prices are always quoted at this store and these, backed up by methods of the strictest integrity, have built up a patronage which comprises the very best people of this section. The proprietor, Mr. W. T. Fossett, is among Sangamon Co.’s young and enterprising merchants, and possesses with knowledge and executive ability, an alertness to discover popular needs that quickly wins popular recognition and favor, Mr. Fossett was born on a farm in McLean Co,. and resided in that section until he reached the age of five years when, with his parents he moved to Sangamon County and grew up at the butcher business which enterprise his father conducted. Ten years ago, he embarked in business of general merchandising with a small stock, limited capital, but with an abundance of energy and perseverance, and a large and favorable acquaintance. With each succeeding year the stocks grew larger and likewise the patronage until, today, the business is thoroughly representative among local mercantile enterprises. Mr. Fossett takes an active interest in fraternal affairs being a member of the Modern Woodmen and Knights of Pythias. In politics he is a zealous and untiring worker and, as a member of the Republican County Central Committee. is called upon to assist in formulating executing the party policy. Mr. Fossett, as a business man and citizen, is held in high esteem and has a host of friends throughout this section.
